UEFN + Verse
After working on the back end of UEFN for a while I decided to give it a shot and see what I could make in a week. I remembered one of the games I worked on in College and decided to remake that in UEFN. I was impressed with the ease I could rapidly prototype the mechanics and build out the environment.
A short trailer of what I was able to accomplish in a week of working with UEFN and Verse
Unreal Editor for Fortnite
It was empowering to have the power of the Unreal Editor at my fingertips when working on this project. As someone who is used to the editor workflow it was much faster for me to prototype mechanics and build out the environment than it would be inside of Fortnite Creative.
Verse
On the second day of the project I dug into the Verse Documentation. Verse is Epic’s new programming language that can be use alongside Fortnite Creative devices to further expand upon what is possible to create in the Fortnite ecosystem. The documentation was laid out very well and easy to navigate. I found Verse to be an intuitive language to pick up start using right away.
